West Point House Day Nursery is structured to provide care for children in three separate units:
Babies: 0-2 years
Toddlers: 2-3 years
Pre-school: 3-5 years.
Each unit caters for a particular age group, in which the care and activities are specifically structured to the needs and developmental stage of the children within that particular age range. Generally, in all units, the day consists of equal proportions of routines and free play, and all children are given the opportunity of outdoor play at all times, weather permitting. The nursery staff members follow statutory guidance when planning activities and curriculum within the units from The Early Years Foundation Stage, that is from 0 to 5 years.
We aim to provide an environment for children that reflects the society that we exist in. That is, respecting all ethnic and cultural heritages that form a part of our daily lives and providing positive images for both sexes. We teach the children that everything in society is available to them regardless of sex, race, religion, culture, gender and language.
We follow the 'Early Years Foundation Stage' education programmes to ensure your child receives the best possible start to their learning in a stimulating and encouraging setting. Our activities include:
We always have a range of healthy snacks on offer and provide balanced meals at lunch and dinner time.
We run a 4-week rolling menu which is available for you to see at any time and we keep you updated about what your child has done each day.
